Premium Features
Premium customers enjoy enhanced features designed to make your experience smoother, safer, and more reliable. Here’s a breakdown of the exclusive premium benefits available to you.
Chat, Email, and Phone Support
When you upgrade to Premium, you get access to our world-class support team. Whether you prefer instant chat, detailed email conversations, or a real-time phone call, we’re here to help.
Our support team will answer your questions and help you solve problems with your ExaVault installation.
Automatic Updates
ExaVault’s Automatic Updating feature, available exclusively on premium plans, keeps your appliance current with the latest security patches, feature enhancements, and performance improvements. This includes updates to both the ExaVault software and the underlying Linux operating system.
Managed through the built-in Appliance Manager, automatic updates offer full control and flexibility. Administrators can enable or disable the feature at any time, configure the specific time of day updates should occur, and even trigger updates on-demand with a single click. The system checks for updates in real-time and provides clear options to apply them immediately or wait for the scheduled window.
When enabled, the automatic update schedule also extends to OS-level maintenance through unattended upgrades—ensuring your entire stack stays aligned and secure without manual intervention.
For customers not using Premium, updates remain possible but require downloading a new image from ExaVault and manually re-mapping the data disk to the new instance.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Premium customers can integrate ExaVault with a single sign-on (SSO) solution that supports SAML. Security Assertion Markup Language, or SAML, is a standardized way to tell external applications and services that a user is who they say they are. Enabling SSO for authentication lets you incorporate ExaVault within your existing infrastructure.
If you also enable SCIM provisioning, you can automatically provision user accounts within ExaVault without tedious, manual setup.
Automatic SSL Certificate Management
ExaVault Premium customers can enable automatic SSL certificate management in the appliance manager SSL Certificate page. This activates ongoing, automatic SSL registration and renewal for your domain.
Certificates are provided by Let's Encrypt. Let's Encrypt is a non-profit Certificate Authority, providing exceptional security that meets, or exceeds, that of comparable commercial Certificate Authorities. Let's Encrypt provides automated processes for managing and updating certificates.
ExaVault is programmatically integrated with Let's Encrypt, via the cloud service of our parent company Files.com, removing human interaction which can introduce human error into the certificate management process.
ExaVault monitors the expiration date of the SSL certificate and automatically installs a new one, so you don't have to monitor expiration dates. When a new certificate is created, your appliance's proxy and SFTP/FTP services are restarted to automatically apply the updates.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Upgrading to ExaVault Premium allows you to configure Two-Factor Authentication for your users.
To enable SMS (security codes sent as texts) for two-factor authentication, you must provide credentials for a Twilio account in the appliance manager.
